• Traveled 300+ miles across Minnesota’s North Shore
But this has never just been about the numbers.
It’s been about the laughter.
The tears.
The vulnerability.
The courage it takes to build something while raising someone.
We’ve bonded with fellow mompreneurs.
We’ve been inspired again and again.
And yes — we’ve been fueled by a lot of coffee.
Creating She Does – Words of Wisdom from North Shore Mompreneurs has been both an honor and a responsibility.

Gina Joyce is the owner of Roam & Whimsy Co. and Timber & Tide Cabins, and one of the creators behind She Does—three ventures rooted in intentional living, meaningful work, and the power of place. Her path to entrepreneurship began with a bold life change: leaving a corporate career in the Twin Cities to build a more creative and present life for herself and her family in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
In her gift shop, Roam & Whimsy Co., Gina offers wanderer’s goods, whimsical treasures, and thoughtful trinkets—celebrating the magic found in the little things. With Timber & Tide Cabins, she creates thoughtful spaces in a curated collective of iconic North Shore cabins that invite rest, connection, and memories made. And through She Does, Gina is proud to honor women—particularly local mompreneurs—who are building creative, courageous businesses rooted in community.

Laura Muus is a wedding and lifestyle photographer originally from Lima, Peru, now based in Grand Marais and serving the North Shore. Her connection to the area began when she came to the U.S. as a J-1 student, spending her summer breaks (winter in the U.S.) working in Lutsen. It was there that she met her husband and fell in love with the North Shore, eventually moving to Minnesota in 2016.
After welcoming her first child, Laura felt inspired to create a career that would allow her to stay present with her family, embrace the outdoors, and pursue work that feels deeply meaningful. That same intention shapes her work as the photographer behind She Does, where her images capture the mompreneurs at the heart of the project—honoring their stories, creativity, and the lives they’re building.”
